Improving Cargo and Logistics Services, Garuda Indonesia Inaugurating "CARGO INCOMING LOUNGE"

Jakarta, September 2, 2021, – As a national flag carrier, Garuda Indonesia in collaboration with Angkasa Pura Kargo on Wednesday (1/9) inaugurated Cargo Incoming Lounge which is a facility to provide goods retrieval services for Garuda Indonesia cargo services located at the cargo terminal of Soekarno Hatta International Airport (Soetta).

Through the Cargo Incoming Lounge facility, Garuda Indonesia cargo customers will get added value cargo services and logistics in the form of convenience and convenience accessibility of cargo pickup services for Garuda Indonesia cargo direct customers at Soekarno Hatta Airport. In addition, the presence of Cargo Incoming Lounge is also a form of synergy with Garuda Indonesia and Angkasa Pura Kargo in presenting integrated cargo service accessibility for Garuda Indonesia direct customers. Cargo Incoming Lounge is currently available in two locations, namely in the CSC KSO area of Soekarno Hatta Airport and the Titipan Company Services Area (JPT).

The CEO of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra revealed that the presence of Cargo Incoming Lounge service facilities is expected to bring closer to the touchpoint of cargo services for all Garuda Indonesia cargo service users, especially direct customers or goods owners in the form of providing one-stop service facilities to collect cargo goods that are safe, convenient, fast and reliable.

In line with the trend of increasing the amount of cargo transported on each flight, Garuda Indonesia continues to strive to optimize the quality of cargo business services through various development of cargo flight service infrastructure synergized with all relevant aviation stakeholders. With an average cargo freight traffic of 100 thousand tons served by Garuda Indonesia through Soekarno Hatta International Airport every year, this service we hope will further increase the market share of cargo shipments through Soekarno Hatta Airport which is currently one of the largest hubs of Garuda Indonesia's domestic cargo distribution.

"Furthermore, through this facility, we hope that it will be more able to provide convenience and variety of cargo support service options, especially for the collection of Garuda Indonesia cargo goods at Soekarno Hatta airport so that in the future we hope not only to increase public confidence to use Garuda Indonesia cargo services but also be able to accelerate the recovery of the national economy through the support of accelerating logistic distribution in and out of and from Jakarta", added Irfan.

Meanwhile, President Director of Angkasa Pura Kargo, Gautsil Madani revealed that in the future cargo lounge services will be spread in other branches. Our priorities are nearby at major airports such as Kualanamu (Medan), Pontianak, Pekanbaru and Palembang. "The market potential itself is very good. For Garuda cargo, itself can be as much as 200 tons per month, which is significant. This is just one of the APK cargo service points, there are still other lines that can be integrated" added Gautsil.
