Garuda Indonesia Supports The Transportation of 1,500 Oxygen Concentrators from Shanghai to Jakarta

Jakarta, 14 Juli 2021 - The national flag carrier, Garuda Indonesia supports the transportation of medical equipment assistance in the form of 1500 units of oxygen concentrators from Temasek Foundation Singapore in collaboration with 15 Indonesian and Singaporean companies as a form of support to efforts to handle the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. The assistance was brought directly from Shanghai through Garuda Indonesia charter flight service operated by Boeing 777-300ERĀ  aircraft that arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Tuesday (13/7) at 15.44 WIB.

The CEO of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra said that the support of charter flight services is a form of synergy and cooperation between Garuda Indonesia together with the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Health about the distribution of medical equipment assistance in the midst of efforts to accelerate the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia.

"The support of distributing medical equipment assistance in the form of an oxygen concentrator is a manifestation of Garuda Indonesia's commitment to play an active role in contributing its best contribution in supporting the Government's efforts to overcome the increase in COVID-19 cases, especially by ensuring public access to medical devices can be met properly", said Irfan

"As a national flag carrier, Garuda Indonesia always ensures its work to be the vanguard in efforts to handle the COVID-19 pandemic through the provision of accessibility and air connectivity, both for passenger transport and cargo transportation by always putting forward the implementation of strict health protocols throughout the airline's operational lines", Irfan concluded.

The oxygen concentrator's assistance has been handed over to the Ministry of Health, which will then be sent to various hospitals and other health facilities in Indonesia.
