Tangerang, March 09, 2020 – Garuda Indonesia Group through Garuda Indonesia's full-service flight service and low-cost carrier (LCC) Citilink Indonesia will serve all flights to & from Yogyakarta via Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) Kulon Progo Airport, starting from March 29th, 2020.
President of Director Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra explained, "The transfer of Garuda Indonesia Group flight services to Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) is one of our efforts to improve our flight services through the presence of international airport facilities at the airport."
The transfer of this flight service is also a sustainable step of Garuda Indonesia Group in supporting Yogyakarta as a top tourist destination so it can compete at an international level, especially through a greater airport capacity so that passenger growth rates can be optimized.
"We hope that through the operation of the Garuda Indonesia Group flight service at YIA Airport, we can improve our services for the passengers, starting from the aspect of pre-flight to post-flight through various supporting facilities presented by the airport with a capacity of 20 million passengers in a year," he added.
At present, Garuda Indonesia serves at least 81 flights from Yogyakarta to several domestic flight destinations such as Makassar, Denpasar, Balikpapan, and Jakarta.
Meanwhile, Citilink Indonesia operates 24 flights every week from Yogyakarta to multiple flight destinations such as Jakarta, Medan, Pekanbaru, Balikpapan, Makassar, Palembang, Banjarmasin, and Denpasar.
Cargo Freight Garuda Indonesia operates for incoming & outgoing, and applies to General Cargo, Post, and other special goods (Dangerous Goods, Perishables, AVI and Valuable).
