Indonesia won the best cargo airline category of Asia-Pacific region by the Indonesia Cargo Agent Club
(ICAC) for the cargo and logistics services performance which is considered to have the best
performance in fulfilling the needs of cargo agents, especially in the Asia-Pacific region.
Mohammad Iqbal, Director of Garuda Indonesia Business Cargo & Business Development, stated that the award has its significance for all national cargo business players, especially during the challenges of the national air cargo business performance faced by the national cargo industry sector.
"We are optimistic that we will improve our performance in expanding the air cargo shipping network and strengthening the connectivity of every region of the existing logistics path, through innovations that can bring air cargo services closer to public needs," said Iqbal.
M. Iqbal added, "This achievement also marks the continuous development of the air cargo business ecosystem. Through this acknowledgment by the ICAC cargo agent association, we are committed to work together with the supporting sector of the air cargo business to improve the cargo business climate that provides optimal benefits for both cargo agents and air cargo service providers"
In line with the commitment to develop its air cargo services business, Garuda
Indonesia continues to deliver many innovations in
air cargo services. One of them is the expansion of Cargo
Service Center outlets in all over Indonesia. At present, there
are more than 130 outlets located in many
regions in Indonesia.
Garuda Indonesia is also developing a cargo freighter service to optimize the potential of cargo transportation, especially for the logistics sector in East Indonesia, which has been constrained by limited cargo distribution channels.
In addition to winning the Best Cargo Airline Award in the Asia-Pacific Region, Garuda Indonesia also won the "Best Cargo Airlines for Europe Sector" category on the ICAC Cargo Airlines Award, located at XXI Lounge Plaza Senayan, Central Jakarta (8/14).
The
award was given by the Indonesia Cargo Agent Club (ICAC), an association of
national cargo and logistics business players (especially air transportation),
which has been existing for 33 years and has more than 55 national cargo
agents.
